Engineering Training Equipment Manufacturers Association

Flite Electronics is a member of ETEMA, the Engineering Equipment Manufacturers Association. A special interest group within BESA, ETEMA members' products cover the full range of engineering disciplines for higher education and increasingly for vocational training. Ninety per cent of the turnover of this group is from export.

Whilst ETEMA comprises manufacturers, there is the capability within it to manage the very largest projects. Recently completed is the Turkish Universities Project, which involved the re-equipping of the engineering departments of 30 Turkish universities, valued at £67 million. As part of this project, Flite Electronics supplied 347 Transputer Training Systems.

The hands-on, student experiment approach which characterises the UK method of engineering teaching has kept ETEMA members at the forefront of developments. With a world-wide network of expert agents, the ability to offer effective advise and training, backed by a spares service only possible with today's international courier services, ETEMA primarily works to establish new opportunities for the group.

ETEMA is the first BESA Group to be preparing a benchmarking initiative, and the first to be developing a product-centred website that can assist the planning of complete engineering laboratories.
