Introduction
WINICE PIC16/17, 51/52, 8096/196, DSP 320C25 and DSP MX96037 are a new family of in-circuit emulators available from Flite Electronics. Besides general ICE functions, such as high performance hardware breakpoints and realtime trace, they also offer a high level language debugger option. The products are housed in a plastic case and make much use of ASIC components resulting in compact and light weight units ideal for portable aspplications.
Easy to Use
The WINICE in-circuit emulators connect to the parallel port of a PC and are supplied with easy to use mouse-driven software. On-line guides are provided, and the software may be used by way of drop-down menus or a speedy command line interface. The contents of registers, SFRs, memory or assembly/disassembly of programs can be displayed or modified on-screen. Set-up configurations can also be saved to disk and reloaded for future emulation sessions. The built-in editor also offers macro facilities enabling users to edit source programs and start the whole compiling process in a batch manner.
